Who we are
This website is run by The Welsh Surveying Co (thewelshsurveyingco.co.uk). We are RICS chartered surveyors providing homebuyer and building surveys in Wales and the wider UK.
For privacy questions, email lydia@thewelshsurveyingco.co.uk.
What we collect
If you book a survey or send an enquiry, we collect the details you submit. That typically includes your name, email address, phone number, and information about the property (such as the address and the type of survey you need).
We also use Google Analytics via Site Kit to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device type). This is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
Why we use it
We use your details to respond to enquiries, provide surveys and related services, send terms of engagement, and take payment where you have asked us to. Analytics helps us improve the website.
The legal bases we rely on are: taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, and our legitimate interest in running and improving the site. Where the law requires consent (for example some cookies), we will ask for it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use trusted processors to run the website and forms, including our hosting provider, email delivery, payment processing (Stripe, if you pay online), and Google for analytics. They only process data on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and booking records are kept for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, insurance, and professional record-keeping requirements, then deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to restrict or object to processing, and you can complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we handle your information. Email us at lydia@thewelshsurveyingco.co.uk.
Cookies
Essential cookies make the site work (for example security and forms). Analytics cookies help us see which pages are useful. You can block cookies in your browser; the site may not work fully if you do.
